About Jason
Jason Bunn was born in Melbourne in 1969 and began violin lessons at the age of seven because they got him out of primary school assembly. He went on to attain an A.Mus A, a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce. He has been playing viola with Orchestra Victoria for 15 years. He has also played with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Elision Ensemble and the Australian Art Orchestra. In Europe, he has played with Oldenburgisches Staatsorchester, Holland Symfonia and the Rotterdams Kamerorkest. In 2001-2002 he toured the USA, UK and Europe, performing Grabowsky’s Theft of Sita, and in 2005 he travelled with Aphids, performing Skin Quartet, in Portland, Brussels and Johannesburg. He is inspired by Chris Thile and Kolja Blacher, and his favourite composer is Shostakovich.
