About Paul
Paul was born in Sydney and began learning piano at the age of five (his mother was a piano teacher). His uncle bought three old clarinets from Camberwell Market, and after persistent badgering, Paul was allowed to start clarinet lessons at the age of eight. He studied with Lou Sharog, Mark Walton and Frank Celata; he has never studied music at university. He joined Orchestra Victoria in 2004, and has been a guest principal with the Australian World Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Canberra Symphony Orchestra.
